Plot a killer day out in Sheffield

Experience Sheffield: the enticing playground for those seeking culture, history and nature.

With its rich heritage rooted in the arts, buzzing nightlife, thriving beer scene, and closeness to the Peak District, Sheffield is a must-visit destination for those seeking adventure.

Sheffield boasts an impressive collection of museums, art galleries, theatres and public spaces in the heart of the city. Notably, The Millennium Gallery and the Graves Gallery are two remarkable free-to-visit locales with onsite cafes that you’re guided past on this thrilling Murder Mystery Trail. Adjacent to the Millennium Gallery is Sheffield Winter Garden, an enormous temperate glasshouse. This architectural marvel houses more than 2,000 plants from around the globe, providing a green oasis and a tranquil pitstop for coffee or snacks! Best of all, entry is free!

Tudor Square is home to The Crucible Theatre, Tanya Moiseiwitsch Playhouse, and the Lyceum Theatre, forming the largest theatre complex outside of London (and a fitting spot for a crime scene!) And, of course, Sheffield also prides itself on a rich industrial heritage (hence the name Steel City) that continues to shape its identity.

Top tip: Once you’ve solved this Murder Mystery Trail, top off your day with a visit to Kelham Island. This man-made island was pivotal in the industrial revolution, but nowadays, the factories and workshops house independent shops, galleries and microbreweries. This area has a thriving beer scene and is a mecca for microbreweries and real ale pubs. As you immerse yourself in the city’s industrial history at the Kelham Island Museum, be sure to check out its onsite pub, The Millowners Arms.

So, if you’re searching for a fun way to discover Sheffield, call off the search! This murder-mystery-style Sheffield treasure hunt captures the essence of the city, leaving you with a clear understanding of what the area has to offer and a big smile on your face.
